La Cigogne in the 6th La Cigale News Letter After our recent visit to Paris and La Cigale, I decided to compose a news letter and share some of our experiences with our friends and guests, as well as others who might be interested. I have information and updates concerning La Cigale and La Cigogne. I also included some restaurants that we enjoyed which are easy walking distance from the apartment. DON'T JUST VISIT PARIS, EXPERIENCE PARIS!!! Have you ever dreamed of visiting Paris and experiencing it from the perspective of a Parisian rather than a tourist; where you could wander the streets and feel the atmosphere, the wonderful sights, smells, and sounds of the local marché, pick up a baguette from your local boulangerie, purchase wine from the local wine shop, and don't forget the incomparable pastries from the local patisserie? Have you ever felt trapped in a small Parisian hotel room, where you are completely dependent on hotel staff for every need? If indeed you have, we have a solution. Two luxury apartments just steps from the rue Mouffetard, and a second apartment situated on the rue de Sèvres in the 6th just a few short blocks from the Bon Marché the oldest department store in Paris and the largest on the left bank.. The first is located at carrefour (corner) of Avenue des Gobelins & Boulevard Saint-Marcel. The apartment has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, large living room, kitchen, dining room, large entry way, on the first floor ( Second floor American), with an elevator, and security code. The second apartment is a two bedroom, one bath apartment on the second floor (third floor American). The building as well as the apartment have been totally refurbished and remodeled in 2003. The first apartment (La Cigale) is located at 81, Boulevard Saint Marcel. It is at the southern edge of the 5th arrondissement. It is a 5 minute walk to the most animated street market in all of Paris at rue Mouffetard. The sights, sounds and smells are marvelous. You will be 15 to 20 minutes by foot from the Pantheon and the Luxembourg gardens, the Jardins des Plantes
and the museum of natural history, and the Montparnasse area,
Hemingway's old haunts. After the Pantheon it is another 10 to 15
minute walk to the Seine. If you prefer public transportation or the
weather isn't cooperating, the metro stop is Les Gobelins, metro
line #7, is just two doors down and takes you to the Marais, the
Louvre, and the Opera. There are four major bus stops at the corner,
which provide easy and convenient transportation to almost every
area of Paris. Bus routes, metro routes, and walking itineraries
will be available in the apartment, which will give directions to
many of the major sites of Paris.
The second apartment (La Cigogne) is located in 6th arrondisement
just up the street from the oldest department store in Paris and the
largest on the left bank, the "Bon Marché",
with it's "Grande Epicerie de Paris". It is within easy
walking distance to "Montparnasse" and 2 Metro stops from
"Saint Germain-des-Près"
. It is a very upscale neighborhood with many nice shops and
excellent restaurants.

The apartment at 81, Boulevard Saint Marcel
(La Cigale) is available beginning at $2250.00 per week.. The
Second two bedroom apartment at 125, rue de Sèvres
(La Cigogne ) starts at $2000.00 per week for two guests. Prices can be prorated
for longer or shorter stays and vary according to the number of
