La Cigogne is a 500 square foot, two bedroom, one bath apartment in the popular 6th arrondissement. It is a short five minute walk to the busy Montparnasse area and just one Metro stop separates the apartment from the exciting and animated Saint Germain-des-Près area. It is also just a few short blocks from the oldest department store in Paris and the largest on the Left Bank the Bon Marché. The apartment is on the deuxième étage (third floor American), with a marble entryway, garden courtyard, and a glass elevator. It has two large bedrooms each with a balcony overlooking the rue de Sèvres. We plan on having a small folding table and two folding chairs for each balcony. The master bedroom has twin beds which measure 90cm X 200cm, and a marble fireplace. The other bedroom is adjacent to the living room and has a Murphy bed which measures 160 cm X 200 cm. When the bed is folded down the room is the second bedroom, when it is folded up the room functions as extra living space. We have placed a desk in that room and will eventually have cable internet access. The apartment has a beautiful custom designed kitchen with cherry wood cabinets, gas cook top, microwave oven, standard oven, and granite countertop. The bath is pretty with light blue ceramic tile, a small tub with shower, and towel warmers. The living room has an unusual ceramic fireplace, cable TV, stereo, and seating for 4 or 5 adults. The small dining area is adjacent to the kitchen, and has seating for four..
